INTERLOCK RESTORATION PROCESS

INTERLOCK MAINTENANCE AND SURFACE CLEANING
After the site visit, we send our team to re-level the sunken interlock and replace the broken or missing interlock if needed, then they start pressure washing and remove all the weeds, stain and debris and empty all the joints, we use a special stain remover to clean oil-based stain then we blow out all the remaining dust with an industrial grade leaf blower, whenever we make sure the surface is completely dry and clean we start the next step;
FILLING THE GAP
when we make sure that all the interlocks are clean and dry, we fill the joints with proper polymeric sand, we choose proper polymeric sand depending on the size of the joints, stone texture and colour. we sweep the sand until we make sure all the joints are filled with the sand and the surface is clean. then we compact the surface to ensure the sand has completely penetrated the joints, then we spray the water and let it dry for three days to start; the next step polymeric sand is available in three colours; charcoal, gray and beige.

SEALING
to apply sealing we have to make sure that the paver and sands are completely dry, then we blow out all the dust and debris from the surface. after that, we apply the sealer to the surface, the sealer is available in three finishes; high gloss, semi-gloss, and matter.
POLYMERIC SAND
WHAT IS POLYMERIC SAND
Polymeric sand is fine sand that is combined with additives that form a binding agent when exposed to water. Silica is an additive and is often used to help lock the fine sand particles together. As the sand particles fuse, the joint between two interlock stones becomes impenetrable, and the pavers are locked in place.
BENEFITS OF POLYMERIC SAND
A project finished with polymeric sand is considered more robust and long-wearing than a project that utilizes regular jointing sand. This durability is awarded by the binding agent within the sand, which ensures that it will not budge for years to come. Sturdy, immovable joints ensure sturdy, immovable pavers.
The joints are so tightly bound to their adjacent pavers that heavy rain cannot wash any of the fine sand away. Regular jointing sand may be eroded by rainfall and is known for requiring replacement.
Weeds are incredibly resilient, and chances are you will find one or two making their way between your pavers despite your use of polymeric sand. However, the airtight consistency of activated polymeric sand does deter weeds considerably. Other pests, like ants, will also find it more challenging to enter the spaces between your pavers.
Like regular jointing sand, polymeric sand comes in an array of colors. This allows you to choose the variety best suits your patio pavers.
TYPES OF POLYMERIC SAND
Polymeric sand is available in various sizes and colors. Our professional paver restoration team finds the best size and color that matches your interlock joints, color, and texture.
